This Privacy Policy explains how Renmo LLC, trading as MelaBoo (“MelaBoo”, “we”, “us” or “our”), collects, uses and shares personal information when you visit officialmelaboo.com, place an order, contact us or subscribe to marketing communications.

Renmo LLC is the controller responsible for the personal information described in this policy, except where a service provider independently determines how it uses information under its own privacy policy.

For privacy questions or requests, please email hello@officialmelaboo.com.

  • Marketing preferences and consent records.

Payment details are handled by the payment providers used at checkout. The information available to us depends on the payment method and may include limited card information, such as the card type and last four digits. This policy does not mean that MelaBoo receives or stores your full payment card details.

  • Your IP address, browser type and device information.

  • Pages and products viewed.

  • Referring websites and interactions with our store.

  • Cookie identifiers and consent preferences.

  • Shopping cart activity and checkout events.

Collection through optional tracking technologies depends on your cookie choices.

Customer Service Information

When you contact us, we collect the information you provide, which may include your name, email address, order number, correspondence and photographs relevant to your enquiry.

Please avoid sending sensitive information that is unnecessary for resolving your request.

Reviews and Photographs

If you submit a review or photograph for publication, we collect the content and any associated information you provide.

Content approved for publication may appear on our website, as explained in our Terms of Service. Please do not include information you do not want made public.

How We Use Your Information

We use personal information to:

  • Process payments and fulfil orders.

  • Arrange delivery, returns and refunds.

  • Send order confirmations and delivery updates.

  • Respond to enquiries and resolve complaints.

  • Detect fraud and protect our website.

  • Maintain financial and business records.

  • Understand website performance and improve our store.

  • Display customer reviews and photographs.

  • Send permitted marketing communications.

  • Measure advertising performance and provide relevant advertising, subject to your consent where required.

Our Legal Bases

Where UK data protection law applies, we rely on the following legal bases:

Contract: To process purchases, fulfil orders, arrange returns and provide related customer service.

Legal obligation: To maintain records, comply with applicable laws and respond to lawful requests.

Legitimate interests: To administer and protect our business, prevent fraud and manage customer enquiries where these interests do not override your rights.

Consent: For optional advertising and analytics tracking where required, and for marketing communications where consent is the applicable basis.

Where permitted, email marketing about our own similar products may rely on the existing-customer exception under applicable marketing rules, provided the required opt-out opportunities are offered.

You may withdraw consent at any time. Withdrawal does not affect processing that was lawful before you withdrew it.

Who We Share Information With

We share relevant information with providers that help operate our business, including:

Shopify: Our online store platform, supporting checkout, order management, hosting and related store functions.

Payment providers: To process payments, refunds and fraud checks for the payment methods offered at checkout.

Shipping and fulfilment partners: To prepare, dispatch and deliver orders. They receive the information needed for those tasks, such as recipient details, delivery addresses and relevant order information.

Klaviyo: To manage email subscriptions, marketing preferences and automated email communications.

Google Analytics: To understand website usage and performance, subject to your cookie preferences.

Meta: To measure Facebook advertising and support relevant advertising through the Meta Pixel, subject to your consent where required.

We may also disclose information to professional advisers, public authorities or other parties where necessary to meet legal obligations, protect legal rights or address fraud.

If our business is transferred or reorganised, relevant information may be shared as part of that process, subject to applicable privacy protections.

Providers may process information on our behalf or act as independent controllers for certain activities. Their own privacy notices explain those activities:

Cookies and Similar Technologies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies for store functionality, preferences, analytics and advertising.

Essential technologies support functions such as shopping carts, checkout and security. Optional technologies include tools used for analytics and advertising.

Our cookie banner allows you to accept or reject optional cookies and adjust your preferences. Where consent is required, optional tracking must only operate after you have agreed to it.

You can change your choices through the website’s cookie controls. You can also manage cookies through your browser, although blocking essential cookies may affect store functionality.

Cookie durations vary by provider and purpose. Where available, further details are provided through our cookie controls and the relevant provider’s documentation.

Analytics and Advertising

We currently use Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel.

Depending on your consent choices, these tools may receive device identifiers and information about actions on our website, such as viewing products or completing a purchase.

We use this information to understand store performance, measure advertising and support relevant advertising.

We do not currently use Google Ads, but may introduce it in the future. If we do, we will update this policy and the relevant consent controls before introducing new processing.

Rejecting optional advertising cookies does not prevent you from shopping with us.

Email Marketing

We use Klaviyo for newsletters, promotional emails and automated email communications, including abandoned-checkout reminders where permitted.

Beginning checkout or providing an email address does not, by itself, constitute consent to marketing.

You can unsubscribe from marketing emails using the unsubscribe link in a message or by emailing hello@officialmelaboo.com.

Unsubscribing from marketing does not prevent us from sending necessary communications about an order, return or customer service request.

Future SMS Marketing

We do not currently operate an SMS marketing programme.

If we introduce one, we will update the relevant privacy information and explain the programme when you enrol. Marketing texts will only be sent with appropriate permission under applicable rules.

Providing a telephone number for delivery or customer service does not, by itself, constitute consent to SMS marketing. Marketing consent will not be a condition of purchase.

You will be able to unsubscribe using the instructions in the messages or by contacting hello@officialmelaboo.com.

International Processing

Renmo LLC is established in the United States. Our website platform and service providers may also process information outside the United Kingdom.

Where UK international transfer rules apply, an appropriate legal mechanism is required. Depending on the recipient and destination, this may include an applicable adequacy arrangement or approved contractual safeguards.

You may contact hello@officialmelaboo.com for information about processing locations and the safeguards applicable to your information.

How Long We Keep Information

We retain personal information according to its purpose and applicable legal requirements.

Order and financial records: For the period needed to fulfil orders, manage returns and disputes, and meet applicable accounting, tax and recordkeeping obligations.

Customer service correspondence: Until the enquiry is resolved and for any further period reasonably needed for related complaints, disputes or legal claims.

Marketing information: While you remain subscribed or another valid basis for marketing applies. If you unsubscribe, we may retain a minimal suppression record to ensure your choice is respected.

Reviews and photographs: While they remain published or relevant to the purpose for which they were submitted, subject to applicable rights and removal requests.

Analytics and tracking information: According to the relevant tool’s retention settings, the purpose of collection and your consent choices.

Information should be deleted or anonymised when it is no longer needed, unless continued retention is required by law.

Your Privacy Rights

Depending on the circumstances and applicable law, you may have the right to:

  • Obtain access to your personal information.

  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete information.

  • Request deletion.

  • Restrict certain processing.

  • Object to processing based on legitimate interests.

  • Object to direct marketing at any time.

  • Receive certain information in a portable format.

  • Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.

These rights are subject to applicable conditions and exceptions.

To make a request, email hello@officialmelaboo.com. We may ask for information reasonably necessary to verify your identity.

We aim to answer initial enquiries within 24 hours. Formal privacy requests are handled within the applicable legal deadline, normally one month for UK data protection requests, with extensions where legally permitted.

You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office:

Children’s Privacy

Our store is intended for adults placing orders. Customers under 18 must have a parent or legal guardian place the order on their behalf.

We do not knowingly seek personal information from children for independent purchases or marketing subscriptions.

If you believe a child has provided personal information inappropriately, please contact us so we can review the situation and take appropriate action.

Security

Access to customer information should be limited to people and providers who need it for authorised business purposes.

No internet transmission or storage system can be guaranteed completely secure. Please avoid sharing account credentials or unnecessary sensitive information by email.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes to our services, providers or legal obligations.

The latest version will appear on this page with an updated date. Where required, we will notify you of material changes or request consent before using information for a new purpose.
